Piglet went in for a new front parking sensor as the other was acting up.
They gave me a 2018 Ford KA+
Not a good car, basic, very basic but it was another car to clean.
Out came the snow foam.
Exterior washed, sealed with CarPro Hydrofoam with 3-4ml of Gyeon Wetcoat Essence. Scratches and scuffs polished away.
Washed, sealed and then dried using Gyeon Cure as a drying aid.
Interior vacuumed and wiped down.
Dressed the door rubbers.
Door electric rubbers can look white or faded
Rubbers dressed with Adams Invisible Undercarriage Spray, leaving a nice glossy black rubber (surrounding area wiped down from water spots, etc...
Getting into the nooks and crannies you may not look at but may glance at, so needed to be done
Tyres dressed
Wheels thoroughly cleaned, sealed, dried and tyres dressed
Engine clean ed and dressed
Under bonnet thermal pad vacuumed, surrounding areas degreased and protected
Engine bay, even though the car had only covered 580 miles was filthy, thoroughly cleaned with AutoBrite Jaffa Clean, brush and plenty of cloths
Dressed with 303 Aerospace Protectant

So wait, you just cleaned your rental car? I get you like to clean, but that just seems insane to me.
What are the reactions of the staff at the dealer when you do this?

Oh my. You really do just enjoy cleaning cars that much . That’s amazing.

This one was a courtesy car (loaner). I love to clean a car and return a car cleaner and better than how I was given.
I had a rental Hyundai i30 for a three days once and I took out so many scratches and scuffs. Shampood some spots on the interior, levelled out the over spray from some damage repair on the passenger rear quarter.
Often they don’t even look at the car. But I’ll say I have it a clean as I hand the keys back and they’ll say, ‘that’s not necessary’.
But it is for me.

Thanks. I love doing it and giving rental, courtesy or loaner cars a pampering at least once in it’s life makes me feel good.
When it’s someones car I enjoy the relaxation of cleaning a car, the results make me feel like I’ve done something and the owners faces is always a pleasure to see.
These cars have no owner that cares for them so it makes it something between just me and the car. It’s nice.

I think I only did that once when trading cars with a friend because he wanted to drive my Solstice, and it was because his car was unbearably dirty. And even then it was just running it through a touchless wash because it was free.

Quite often people will ask me to clean their car before a trade in.
I’ve the neighbours daughter’s car to do next week as it’s a company lease car and is getting handed over to another nurse whom is going to take over the lease before deciding where to take out a new lease.

Considering how some people treat rentals.
When I have a rental, I just fill it up with gas and remove my crap then return it.

Ye’, I’m a bit weird (several people have said so) when it comes to cars.
